Chevron, Supraco compete to win Lampung geothermal prospect

US energy giant Chevron Corp. which joins hands with local firm PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya is competing with a consortium led by local firm PT Supraco Indonesia to win Suoh-Sekincau geothermal prospect in Lampung, a government official said on Tuesday.
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources? Director of Geothermal Sugiharto Harsoprayitno told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that the West Lampung regency administration short-listed the two consortia out of the four submitted their bids for the prospect.
Suparaco Indonesia?s consortium members are Australia?s Origin Energy and India?s Tata Power.
Sugiharto said the Suoh-Sekincau prospect has potential to generate 160 MW of electricity.
Both consortia will submit commercial proposal before the tender committee select one winner, he said. (bernard)
