PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia said that tender process for its geothermal assets is still in progress, with three companies left competing for the assets, Kontan reported on Monday.

The paper quoted Chevron?s Policy, Government and Public Affairs Manager, Imamul Ashuri as saying that the tender committee only obtained confirmation last week that PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy has backed down from the tender, following a similar move made previously by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

The three companies include PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, Mitsui and Marubeni, the paper said.

Chevron is divesting its geothermal assets in Indonesia and the Philippines. In Indonesia, according to the firm?s website, Chevron operates the Darajat and Salak working areas in West Java province, which have a combined operating capacity of 647 MW. Chevron operates the geothermal fields through two subsidiaries, namely Chevron Geothermal Indonesia, Ltd., which manages the Darajat project and Chevron Geothermal Salak, Ltd., operates the Salak project.(*)
