Chevron to conduct 2D seismic survey in Kaimana Regency

Last Friday, officials from Chevron, BPMIGAS and Kaimana Regency government, held an information session over the Chevron West Papua?s seismic survey plan. The meeting was part of Chevron?s efforts to conduct socialization or public information dissemination over its plan for the local government and community.
Security Strategic Relations, Chevron Indonesia, Baruno Subroto, said the meeting was carried out before the company establishes base camps to support the seismic 2D activities in West papua III block.
Kaimana Regency Head, Matias Mairuma, said the local government fully supports the plan of Chevron carrying out exploration activities in the area. He also hopes that BPMIGAS and Chevron can maximize the use of local potentials so that the development of oil and gas sector in the area will also benefit local community. (*)
