Chevron to increase investment in RI by $12 billion

US oil and gas giant Chevron plans to increase its investment in Indonesia by up to US$12 billion in a bid to produce up to 1,000 mmscfd of gas from the Dipsi field in the Makassar Strait, Investor Daily reported Friday.
This was said by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, following a meeting Thursday with visiting Vice President Chevron Asia Pacific, Melody Meyer.
Hatta said that during the meeting he asked Chevron to also increase oil production at the Duri and Minas fields in Riau to help increase the country?s oil lifting, which has been on a declining trend in recent years. He said that Chevron is the largest contributor to the nation?s oil production. (*)
