Chevron to start Indonesian industrial fuel distribution business

US super major Chevron Corp. through its unit PT Chevron Oil Products Indonesia (COPI) plans to start selling its Caltex-branded diesel to Indonesian commercial and industrial customers beginning the second quarter 2010.
According to the Company?s website updated March 2010, customers will be served from the storage facility at Tanjung Priuk, Jakarta.
Eventually, storage and distribution is expected to expand to other parts of Indonesia, it said.
Ibrahim Hasyim, an official at downstream regulatory body BPH MIGAS, however, told Petromindo.Com that thus far COPI has yet obtained a so-called Registration License that would allow the Company to start fuel distribution business. (alex/bernard)
