ChevronTexaco ready for more investment in gas sector

US oil giant ChevronTexaco said it was still interested to pour more investment to Indonesia, especially in natural gas sector, company?s vice president for international gas business Audi Setters was quoted by Bloomberg as saying Wednesday.

Setters said the plan was in line with the company?s goal to increase global gas production.

ChevronTexaco, through its wholly owned subsidiary is currently the country?s top crude producer with output of around 500,000 BPD.

The company also has 25 percent working interest in Natuna Block B PSC offshore West Natuna, which exports natural gas to Malaysia and Singapore. The company also has a gas exploration block in Kisaran block, Central Sumatra.(*)
