China Fujian to cut LNG purchases from Tangguh project

China's Fujian LNG terminal has said that it considered reducing the amount of gas to be supplied from Tangguh project to about 1 million tons per annum (MTPA) in the near term compared to the 2.6 MTPA it had agreed to buy, a Minister said Thursday.
?We are in talks with them (Fujian) on the possibility of diverting the remaining 1.6 million tons gas,? Minister of energy and mineral resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro told reporters without elaborating.
BP-operated Tangguh LNG complex in Papua is initially designed to have two trains with a combined capacity of 7.6 million tons per annum and is scheduled to commence production late 2008. (godang)
