China interested in RI's mining sector

The Chinese government is interested in Indonesia's mining sector and would invite Idonesian officials to talk about the possiblity of Chinese companies investing in the sector.

The Chinese government voiced the interest during a meeting between Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro and China's deputy minister for land and resources on Thursday in Jakarta, according to Detik.Com

"The Chinese government would promote investment in (Indonesia's) geological and mineral resources. They said they were interested in underground mining. Next month, there will be further talks about this," Purnomo said.

He said the Chinese government would send officials to visit some mining sites and geological development projects in Indonesia following their intention to promote Chinese investment in the sectors. (*)
