China Nickel Resources to build iron billet plant in S. Kalimantan

Chinese special steel manufacturer China Nickel Resources through its Indonesian unit PT Mandan Steel will start construction of iron billet plant in South Kalimantan by year-end, a government official was quoted by Kontan Online as saying.
Ministry of Industry?s Director of Metal Industry I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan said that the company will spend US$220 million to build the plant, which has capacity of 1 million tonnes per year.
According to him iron ore with the volume of 2.5 million tonnes per annum will be supplied by South Kalimantan miners PT Sebuku Iron Lateritic Ore and PT Yiwan Mining. Yiwan Mining is also a unit of China Nickel Resources.(*)
