China's energy giant China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd is considering to participate in upcoming tender of new power plant projects to be held by Indonesia's power utility company PT PLN (Persero) as part of the 35 GW power program.
Wang Shumin, Vice President of China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd, said that the company is looking closely at the development of the 35 GW power plant projects.
"We are looking at the tender process by PLN," Wang Shumin said to Petromindo.com in Jakarta Wednesday, when asked whether China Shenhua is eyeing new power project in Indonesia.
China Shenhua is currently operating a 2x150 MW mine mouth power plant in Simpang Belimbing, South Sumatra, a joint project with PT Energi Musi Makmur (MME). It is also developing the 2x1,000 MW Java 7 power plant project with PT Pembangkit Jawa Bali in Serang, Banten province. "The Java 7 power project runs smoothly," Wang Shumin said.
