Chinese companies have expressed their keen interest to import coal and iron ore from Indonesia to meet rising demand in the country, Neraca daily reported on Saturday.
The Association of Indonesia-Shanghai Business Association (IBAS), Adi Harsono, said that besides importing the commodities, many Chinese companies were also interested in entering the country's mining sector.
"Besides oil, they also have strong interest in coal and iron ore exploration," he was quoted as saying. China, one of the world's major coal producers, has limited its coal exports to meet the domestic demand.(*)
