Kingsun Power Group, Guangdong based independent power producer, is looking for Indonesian miners who can provide them with 3,700 to 4,700 kcal/kg cv coal on a long term contract.
"We have acquired our trading license, and currently working on dealing with coal trading ourselves," said Helen Hu, Coal Procurement Officer at Kingsun Power to Petromindo.Com on the sidelines of Coaltrans China in Beijing last month.
The group currently has four coal fired power plants to run, namely Foshan Nanhai Power Plant 1 Co., Ltd, Foshan Nanhai Kingpower Power Plant Co., Ltd, Foshan Nanhai Canaen Kingsun Power Plant Co., Ltd and Foshan Nanhai Gangneng Fuel & Materials Co., Ltd.
Combined, all power plants require up to 10 million tons of coal to run per year, in which the group expects to import about 50 percent of the total demand from Indonesia and South Africa (6,000 kcal/kg cv).
