State-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is interested in new exploration blocks offered by the government, a government official said Wednesday.
?They expressed their interest when we met at a recent seminar in China,? head of working areas at the directorate of oil and gas Priyono said without giving further detail.
The Chinese largest oil and gas producer, through its subsidiary PetroChina, has been active in Indonesian upstream sector.
The government has opened the tenders for contracts to explore and develop 14 new exploration blocks through the regular tender system.
The bidding is scheduled to be closed on November 10, while the result is expected to be announced in December. (godang)
