A number of Chinese companies have expressed keen interest to take part in the development of the mining sector in Mukomuko regency, Bengkulu, Neraca daily reported on Monday

The Mukomuko regent Amandeka Amir said in Bengkulu on Saturday that the Chinese companies' interest was unveiled by executives of the Chinese chamber of commerce and industry during a recent visit to Mukomuko.

Mukomuko, one of regencies in Bengkulu, is rich in mineral deposits such as coal, gold, iron ores and cement. But not a single mining company has operated in the regency, which is located right at the border between Bengkulu and West Sumatra province. (*)
