Chinese firm invests $220m to build billet plant in S. Kalimantan

Chinese firm China Nickel Resources Holdings Co. Ltd. through its subsidiary PT. Mandan Steel will soon start construction billet plant in Batulicin, South Kalimantan, a government official said on Tuesday.
Director of Metal Industry at the Ministry of Industry I Putu Suryawirawan told reporters that the plant would be able to produce 1 million tonnes of billet per year, with investment estimated around US$ 220 million.
Putu said that iron ore for the plant would be supplied by S. Kalimantan miner PT. Yiwan Mining. (bernard)
