Chinese investor plans to build solar power plant in Bali

An investor from China is planning to build a 5 MW solar power plant on Nusa Penida Island in Bali, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.

The paper quoted Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika as saying that the Chinese investor, a state-owned firm, is currently in the process of conducting feasibility study.

While did not disclosing the identity of the investor and the size of the investment, Pastika hopes the investor to quickly realize the plan to help resolve the current power shortage problem in Nusa Penida where supply has been unable to meet demand during peak hours.

Pastika added that state-owned electricity firm PLN has agreed to purchase the electricity produced from the planned power plant project. (*)
