Chinese investors to build smelters in Indonesia

Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Rudi Rubiandini said on Tuesday that three investors from China have expressed interest to build smelters to further process mining ores.

Rudi said that the smelters would be built in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, close with source of gas that would be used as feedstock for planned power plants. He, however, did not disclose the name of the investors.
