Chinese investors to invest $1.5 billion in RI?s energy sector

At least 10 China?s top investors have expressed committment to investing up to US$1.5 billion in Indonesia's energy, mining, telecommunications and manufacturing sectors, the Koran Tempo newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.
Indonesia China Cooperation Investment operational executive M. Jusuf Rizal said his organization has been giving a mediation service to the Chinese investors.
Of the total $1.5 billion amount committed by the Chinese firms, $5oo million had been invested in PT Power Jawa Barat?s power plant in Serang. The remaining amount will be invested in 2005. (*)
