Christian Ponto elected new CEO Of Sekawan Intipratama

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Sekawan Intipratama Tbk has elected Christian Ponto as new president director during extraordinary shareholders meeting on Wednesday.
Other members of the Board elected during the shareholders meeting are Sebastian Djafar, Doni Wisnu Wardhana and Soeichan Arief Effendi who serve as directors; Reiner Abdul Rachman Latief as chief commissioner and Chandra Purwanto, Ery Firmansyah, Yuli Soedargo and Gautam Kunzu as independent commissioners.
The company?s share trading has been suspended by the stock market?s authority following reports that its subsidiary PT Indo Wana Bara Mining Coal suspended mining operation at its coal concession in East Kalimantan in November of last year.
Chris said the new management in the near future will meet with the bourse? authority to discuss the possibility of the suspension being lifted.
Latief said he is still optimistic Indo Wana will be able to resume its coal operation as the reserve is huge.
?Our mission is now how to exploit the coal and sell it overseas but how to optimize its utilization in Indonesia through power and ethanol plants and other businesses,? he said.
Indo Wana holds a 5,000-ha coal concession in West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan, which has coal resources estimated at 533.31 million tons, and reserves estimated at 288.1 million tons.
