Churchill establishes Indonesian advisory board, appoints CFO

UK coal mining firm The company has formed an Indonesian Advisory Board to guide its business in the country as it achieves its goal of becoming a major coal producer.

The board will be chaired by Alwi Shihab, the Indonesian government's current Special Envoy to the Middle East. He will be supported by board member Suhanjono who will bring with him significant experience in Indonesian law and international law. Suhanjono was previously an Attorney General in Indonesia and has spent over 40 years in various legal capacities with the Government of Indonesia, the company said.

Faroek Basrewan, currently a director at Churchill, has been appointed secretary to the board. He is also president director of PT Era Baru Sejahtera and a commissioner at Glendale Partners, an investment and management consultancy.

The UK firm also said it has appointed Paul Graus as chief financial officer.

Graus has over 30 years accounting experience with nearly 20 years in the global mining industry, including a number of years in the Indonesian mining sector focussed on coal and tin, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Churchill has a 75 percent stake in East Kalimantan Coal Project (EKCP), which has a 2.481 billion tons of JORC resource with 956 million tons of which classified as a JORC probable reserve. Its Indonesian partners the Ridlatama Group holds the balance. (denny)
