UK-based Churchill Mining plc announced on Tuesday that John Nagulendran has stepped down as a Non- Executive Director with effect from 3 March 2015.
Nagulendran has agreed to be available to assist the company in an advisory role as and when needed in the ICSID arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Indonesia.
David Quinlivan, Chairman, commented, "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank John for his valuable contribution to Churchill as a member of the Board during the last three years."
Nagulendran, a practicing lawyer, was hired by the firm back in 2012. Last year, the firm together and Planet Mining filed a lawsuit with the ICSID tribunal against the Indonesian government following the revocation of the mining licenses of the East Kutai coal project in East Kalimantan, in which Churchill and Planet held a 75 percent interest.
