?From a humble start, we began the Cigading Port project, marked by the ground breaking ceremony in June 2008 in this bare land. As we promised, 3 years later, what you see here today is our proof of our promise. Our vision, along with PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS) is to expand the existing port facilities to become a world class bulk terminal port with superior solutions for bulk cargo requirements.

To Indonesia we present facilities which we expect to be useful for Indonesia?s economy in general and the coal industry in particular, an international level bulk coal port, Cigading International Bulk Terminal, which has coal handling equipment and technology which can guarantee safety and health better and is environmentally friendly, and therefore will be considered by world class industry players,? he continued.

Energy demands which can no longer be fulfilled by fossil fuels have forced the world to turn to coal. For Indonesia, which is one of the biggest coal producing countries in the world, this is a blessing, making Indonesia an important country in the world. Nevertheless, this condition should be accompanied by adequate transport facilities to ensure coal supplies for domestic as well as foreign industries.

?As Governor of the Province of Banten, who has supported this project since the beginning and has witnessed the corner-stone laying for this project, we open the door widely for Metacorp Berhad, a subsidiary of the MTD Group Malaysia to invest its capital in Banten and express our gratitude for the joint venture with PT Krakatau Bandar Samudra, a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel which has chosen Banten to develop its business, which will not only boost the value of investing in Banten in the eyes of the national and international world, but will also absorb local manpower which of course will increase regional revenues and provide prosperity for Banten?s people,? said Hajah Ratu Atut Chosiyah, Governor of the Province of Banten,

?PT Cigading International Bulk Terminal (CIBT) as the company which manages the terminal?s facilities is the business partner of PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS), a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel (KS), which has granted exclusive rights to build, finance and operate this sophisticated international bulk terminal in the Cigading Port area. Without the cooperation from all parties, particularly Metacorp Berhad?s investment, we would not be able to realize the operation of this terminal.
