CIC wants to do business with PTBA

Chinese investment firm, China Investment Corporation (CIC) is looking for the possibility of cooperating with a few Indonesian state-owned companies including coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam as it aims to make new investment in the country, State Minister of State Enterprises Mustafa Abubakar said on Tuesday.
?CIC is keen to invest in real sector. The firm is interested to enter the coal mining business, and also eager to corporate with state-owned port authority PT Pelindo III,? he said.
But he did not give details.
In Sept 2009, coal mining giant PT Bumi Resources Tbk announced that China Investment Corporation (CIC) has invested US$1.9 billion in Bumi in the form of a debt-like instrument. (godang)
