The Cilacap refinery has resumed operation after being shut down for a week for repairs following a fire which hit the plant?s second crude distillation unit.
Pertamina?s Processing Director Rukmi Hadihartini told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the start-up of the CDU#2 was carried out Tuesday evening. She did not give further details but according to a Pertamina spokesperson it will take one or two days for the refinery to reoperate at full capacity.
Pertamina temporarily shut down the CDU#2 last week, which has processing capacity of 230,000 barrels per day (bpd). The Cilacap refinery is the country?s biggest refinery with a capacity of 348,000 bpd. (godang)
