Cilacap refinery in Central Java is undergoing major turnaround that would last for 50 days, but national fuel supply would not be affected as other refineries are ramping up their output to make up for Cilacap temporary production decrease, a Cilacap refinery spokesperson said.

?Cilacap refinery second unit is undergoing turnaround from July 15 and we are expecting completion at September 5. The first unit is still producing normally,? said Husni Banser, Cilacap refinery spokesperson when contacted by Petromindo.Com Friday.

Husni said turnaround works are carried out by local contractors and estimated cost was US$ 26.4 million.

Cilacap is the biggest refinery with total installed capacity of processing 348,000 BPD of crude. Cilacap supplies 65 percent of Java-Bali fuel requirement.

Cilacap I crude distillation unit (CDU) has the capacity of 118,000 BPD while Cilacap II has the capacity of 230,000 BPD. (godang/alex)
