Cilegon coal-fired power plant to be relocated to Cirebon

The government has decided to relocate the planned coal fired Cilegon power plant to Cirebon in West Java.
The main reason for relocating the planned power plant was because there are already several power plants in Cilegon, an industrial town in Banten.
"The 450 MW (megawatt) Cilegon coal-fired power plant will be moved to Cirebon and its capacity will be enhanced to 600 MW," Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro told jounalists recently.
In mid-April 2005, the government had called for tenders to build this power plant in Cilegon on built-own-operate basis. (Godang)
