Cipaganti starts coal production

Cipaganti Group, a transportation company that has entered coal business, started coal production in February with a monthly output of 80,000 tonnes, ahead of the initial schedule of June this year.
"One year from now, we target to produce 1 million tonnes (a month)," company president director Andianto Setiabudi was quoted by Kontan daily as saying on Monday, adding the firm targeted to produce 12 million tonnes per year within five years.
The firm started its coal business in 2008 and has acquired five coal mines with a total deposit of 223 million tonnnes. It spent between Rp 20 billion and Rp 50 billion to buy each of the coal mines.
The five coal mines, which are all located in East Kalimantan province are the Penajam block, the Dumai block, the Sandaran block, the Bentian Besar block and the Bongan block. (*)
