IDX-listed integrated energy company PT ABM Investama Tbk through its subsidiary PT Cipta Kridatama (CK) has finished the construction of a 30-kilometer hauling road in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan Province, owned by coal miner PT Kaltim Jaya Bara (KJB).
?We have completed the hauling road construction project?, said Irfan Setiaputra, CEO of PT Cipta Kridatama to Petromindo.com on Wednesday. Construction was completed in the second quarter of this year.
?While trying to survive the current downturn in coal price, we are also looking for other mining infrastructure projects, aside from coal,? he added, without providing further details.
The coal hauling road project is part of CK five-year contract worth US$ 428 million with PT Kaltim Jaya Bara (KJB) signed in June 2013 for overburden removal, heavy equipment rental and construction of infrastructure at mining site. KJB itself has medium calorie 5,600 GAR coal (sub - bituminuous) with more than 10 years potential life of mine. The total overburden removal targeted by the end of the project in 2018 is at 151.5 million bank cubic meters.
