IDX-listed mining firm PT Cita Mineral Investindo Tbk said it has obtained a permit from the Ministry of Trade for the export of washed bauxite with purity of more than 42 percent.

The company said in a statement that the export permit comes following recent recommendation letter from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Cita said it has been given an export quota of 3.56 million tons for a one year period. ?With the export approval, the company will be able to resume export of processed bauxite in line with the required criteria,? the company said, but did not say when export will start.

The government introduced a new regulation in January of this year among others allowing miners to resume export of mineral ores such as washed bauxite on the condition that the miners have put in place commitment to develop domestic smelter.

Cita holds a 25 percent stake in PT Well Harvest Winning (WHW), which last year started operation of a one million-ton per annum capacity alumina smelter in Ketapang, West Kalimantan. WHW is 75 percent owned by China?s Hongqiao Group.
