Citra Tubindo bags $89 m contract from Tangguh

JSX-listed pipe maker PT.Citra Tubindo Tbk. announced on Thursday it had won US$89.5 million contract from BP Berau Ltd. a unit of BP Plc for procurement, management and maintenance of Oil Country Tubular Good (OTCG) for Tangguh LNG project in Papua, to be delivered on 2006 and 2007.

The company said the OTCG would include various size of carbon steel and super resistant alloy casing and tubing and premium connections which would be fabricated at the company?s Batam plant using steel supplied by its partners Japan?s Sumitomo Metal Industries and Franco-Germany firm Vallourec Mannessman Tube.

The company said the contract was signed on August 3, 2005.

BP-operated Tangguh LNG project is scheduled to commence operations in 2008 with initial capacity of 8 MTPA. The plant would export all of its capacity to China, South Korea and west coast North America. (alex)
