CMEC to build 2,400 MW power plants

China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) plans to build several power plants with a combined capacity of 2,400 MW, Kontan.co.id reported on Thursday.
The paper quoted CMEC?s President and Executive Director Zhang Chun a saying that the firm plans to build two or three power plants.
He said the firm is looking for locations for the power projects. ?I hope the construction can be started in the second semester of next year,? he said.
CMEC has developed a 2x115 MW coal fired power plant in Labuhan Angin, Tapanuli Tengah regency, North Sumatra. The firm is also planning to develop a 2x450 kw hydropower plant in Batang Gadis, North Sumatra. (*)
