The Clean and Clear (CnC) status which is issued by Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) may be revised if the mining permit (IUP) is in dispute, according to MEMR's Head of Law Division at Directorate General Mineral and Coal Fadli Ibrahim.

"CnC status may be revoked in case of overlapping IUPs," Fadli said on Wednesday in Jakarta. He explained cases of overlapping IUPs happen due to the insufficient data from the regents.

Fadli said MEMR will not issue CnC certificates as long as the disputes over IUPs have not been settled yet. "The certificate will be issued once there is no complaint from other IUP holders," he said.

Based on MEMR data by June 5, 2013, there are 10,891 IUP that have been issued, with 5,974 of them having CnC status and 4,917 without CnC status
