PT Enviromate Technology International (ETI) expects that the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mother station in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, will start operation in March 2015, according to a top official of the firm.

ETI is a member of consortium of companies assigned to construct, operate and maintain CNG facilities in Gresik, East Java and Lombok. The consortium comprises Chinese firms Shijiazhuang Enric Gas Equipment Co. Ltd. (ENRIC), Ocean Engineering Design & Research Institute of China International Marine Containers (CIMC) and ETI.

"Currently, the progress of construction of CNG Gresik has been running for five months and is ahead of schedule. Under the contract, the CNG plant should start operating in May next year, but we estimate that in March next year it will be able to begin operation," President Director of ETI Suriyanto told Petromindo.com.

He added that construction of the project currently covers about 22 percent of the targeted works.

In April 2014, state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has signed two contracts with the consortium to carry out the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) works for a CNG compressor in Gresik and a CNG decompressor in Lombok.

In additio, the consortium will also build a CNG vessel with a capacity of 20 mmscfd that will function to deliver the CNG from Gresik to Lombok, where it will be used as fuel at a 90-MW power plant.

When confirmed, Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN Suryadi Mardjoeki said that CNG vessel is now being constructed and designed in Shanghai, China. Based on contract, the CNG vessel and CNG Lombok projects will be completed in April 2016, he added.

?In addition, CNG vessel will be classified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). ABS is one of the world's leading classification societies,? Suryadi said.
