CNOOC expected to submit Batanghari PoD next year

Chinese firm CNOOC Ltd is expected to submit the first Plan of Development (PoD) for Batanghari block in Jambi early next year.

This was said by Djoko Siswanto, Director for the Management of Upstream Activities at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas recently.

Upstream authority SKK Migas said back in February 2013 that the firm had drilled four wells, namely Kenanga 1, Mathari 1, Kenanga 2 and Kenanga 3. All the wells were dry, except for Kenanga 1, where discovery was made at carbonate basement.

CNOOC Batanghari Ltd owns 87 percent of Batanghari block with the balance owned by PT Gregory Gas Perkasa.
