CNOOC finds hydrocarbon indication at Batanghari

China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) has found a hydrocarbon indication at one well in the Batanghari block in Jambi but hit three dry holes there, according to an official at upstream authority SKK Migas.
?CNOOC has drilled four holes in Batanghari, namely Kenanga-1, where discovery was made at carbonate basement, Matahari-1, which is dry, Kenanga-2 and Kenanga-3, both delineation wells, which turned out to be dry as well,? SKK Migas? Exploration Division Head Nugraheni told Petromindo.com.
CNOOC is evaluating the drilling results and the firm plans to only carry out study this year, Nugraheni said.
CNOOC Batanghari Ltd owns 87 percent of Batanghari block with the balance owned by PT Gregory Gas Perkasa.
