Chinese oil firm CNOOC said its Fujian LNG terminal has entered operation after receiving its first cargo from Indonesia under a long term contract.

Fujian LNG terminal, under the SPA agreement, received 150,000 cubic meters of LNG, or 69,000 tons, from May 15 to May 17, CNOOC said as quoted by Xinhua. This development earmarks the formal operation of the LNG terminal.

The LNG cargo was originated from Bontang LNG project due to delays at the planned Tangguh project.

The Fujian LNG terminal will receive 15 LNG cargo shipments from Indonesia within one year.

Following the term contract, Fujian will receive 2.6 million tons of LNG yearly from the BP-led Tangguh plant.(*)
