A cooler in the production facilities of Pabelokan gas field offshore West Java is leaked, causing a disruption of natural gas supply to the Cilegon power plant in Banten, upstream oil and gas authority BP Migas announced on Thursday.

BP Migas deputy operation Dody Hidayat said that the E-200 coller was leaked since Nov. 6 and was expected to be fixed on Friday (Nov 10)

The Pabelokan field, which has two producing wells, Zelda and Banuwati, normally supplies 45 MMSCFD of natural gas to the Cilegon power plant, he said

The field is part of the South East Sumatra (SES) PSC, which is 65.5 percent owned by operator CNOOC SES Ltd.

CNOOC commenced delivering natural gas to the 750-Megawatt power plant through a 85-km subsea pipeline in June this year. The firm is committed to delivering the gas at the rate of around 50 billion British thermal units (BTU) per day in the first year and the supply will be ramped up to 80 billion BTU per day thereafter.

CNOOC and PLN signed the agreement for the supply of natural gas from Pabelokan to Cilegon in late 2004. The gas contract is valid until 2018.(godang)
