CNOOC, Premier, Niko Resources ask to open data room: Govt

The government has approved requests from several companies to open its data room for potential buyers of their interest in Indonesian oil and gas blocks, the government?s senior official told Petromindo.Com.

Upstream director at the directorate general oil and gas Eddy Hermantoro said that the companies, which requested to open data room including Premier Oil which plans to sell its participating interest in Block A PSC onshore Aceh; CNOOC which plans to sell its interest in Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) block; Niko Resources and Black Gold which plan to sell their respective interest in eastern Indonesia?s blocks.

Earlier, according to Petromindo.com?s source that PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk and Hong Kong-based oil, gas firm Pacific Oil & Gas are competing hard to acquire a 41.67 percent stake owned by Premier in Block A.

Meanwhile, CNOOC has a 36.7 percent participating interest ONWJ which is operated by Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE). It remains unclear who would like to buy the CNOOC interest, but Petromindo?s sources said PHE has the first right to acquire CNOOC?s stake in the block. (godang)
