CNOOC strikes gas off Java

Indonesian unit of Chinese oil, gas firm CNOOC Ltd said it has discovered gas in South East Sumatra PSC offshore Java.
CNOOC Indonesia senior official Sugiarto Moechammad told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the Mila-3 well, which was drilling during the third quarter of 2008 is estimated to contain 45 BCF of recoverable gas.
Soegiarto said CNOOC might bring the discovery into production in 2011-12 with state electricity firm PLN as target consumer.
CNOOC Ltd. holds 65.5% interest of Southeast Sumatra PSC and acts as the Operator. The PSC partners include INPEX Sumatra, Ltd., KNOC Sumatra Ltd., Orchard Energy Sumatra BV, Fortuna Resources (Sunda) Ltd., Talisman UK (Southeast Sumatra) Ltd. and Talisman Resources (Bahamas) Ltd.(godang)
