CNPC buys Papua exploration block: Report

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has bought an exploration block in Papua from Indonesian company PT Waropen Perkasa, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday as quoted by Reuters.
CNPC purchased the Manokwari block in Indonesia's remote Papua province from the little-known Indonesian party, which was awarded the onshore oil and gas acreage by the Indonesian government in 2004.
CNPC is the parent company of Hong Kong and New York-listed PetroChina. (*)
