Coal miners complete exploration, find reserves 561 mln tons in S. Sumatra?s OKU regency

Three investors have finished coal mining exploration work in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) regency in South Sumatra, OKU Post reported on Friday.

The investors were PT Ramdany Coal Mining, PT Adimas Baturaja Cemerlang and PT Selo Argo Dadali, said Gunawan Somar, head of the regency office of energy and mining affairs.

PT Ramdany and PT Adimas completed their exploration work respectively in March 2002 and November 2001. Meanwhile, PT Selo finished its general survey project in August 2001.

Gunawan did not say when PT Ramdany and PT Adimas would begin excavating the coal.

He said coal reserves have been found in several parts of OKU with their combined volumes reaching at least 561 million tons. (*)
