ASX-listed BHP Billiton said on Wednesday that production at the Haju coal mine in Central Kalimantan in the second quarter of this year reached 260,000 tons, a 55.69 percent jump from 167,000 tons in the first quarter.
The company has set coal production target of 1 million tons at the Haju mine this year. Production has been increasing since it started in September of last year. On June 7, 2016, BHP Billiton entered into an agreement to sell its 75 percent interest in IndoMet Coal to its equity partner PT Alam Tri Abadi, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk. ?Completion of the sale is conditional upon the fulfilment of customary regulatory approvals,? BHP said.
