IDX-listed state coal mining firm PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) said that the entire coal output of its East Kalimantan coal unit PT International Prima Coal (IPC) for this year has been contracted.

Corporate Secretary Achmad Sudarto told petromindo.com on Wednesday that the mine, which started production last September, is expected to produce 1.25 million tons this year.

He did not unveil the names of the customers but only said that 60 percent the coal will be sold on domestic market and the remaining on the export market.

In February this year, Achmad said that the IPC mine has shipped several barges of coal to power plants in China. He also said that IPC is supplying coal to state cement maker PT Semen Gresik.

PTBA has a 51 percent stake in IPC. (denny)
