The coal supply for the coal-fired Cilacap power plant in Cilacap, Central Java has gradually returned to normal following the arrival of coal shipment of about 13,500 tons Tuesday.

The plant's operation manager Matoin said in Cilacap Tuesday that another ship carrying 11,000 tons of coal was scheduled to arrive within the next few days as the weather condition, which had caused a delay in the coal shipment during the past several weeks had improved significantly.

"With the addition coal supply, our coal stocks will be in a safe condition," he said.

He earlier said that the Cilacap power plant was facing a serious shortage of coal supply due to a delay in the coal shipment from Kalimantan. The delay in the coal shipment had put the plant's coal stock to a critical level.

The power plant, with a capacity of 2 x 300 MW, supplies the power to the Java and Bali power distribution system. (*)
