COAL TENDER: Taiwan's Formosa seeks 400Kt of thermal coal

Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation, duly organized under the laws of the Republic of China and having its head office in Taipei, Taiwan, on behalf of affiliate of end-users (hereinafter referred to as ?Formosa?), issues this Invitation To Bid (hereinafter referred to as ?ITB?), to provide Bidders with information in detail on the procedures of and requirements for Bidding.

Tendering Quantity, Price, Shipping Schedule and Bid Closing Date

A. Quantity and Price
Bidders are requested to offer with quotation in a single fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 35,000~40,000MT(?10%) by Handy Vessels or 65,000~70,000MT(?10%) by Panamax Vessels or 130,000(?10%)/150,000(?10%)MT by Cape Vessels .

? both FOB Port of Loading basis and CFR Port of Discharging basis.

B. Shipping schedule
Upon mutual agreement on the exact Laycan in 2010/09/01 ~ 2010/12/31

Bidder shall guarantee that each shipment of coal to be purchased by Formosa shall be entirely supplied from a single mine. Supply of coal for any shipment from more than one (1) mine is not allowed. Upon request by Formosa, a Bidder shall provide relevant supporting documents, to Formosa?s satisfaction, including certificates issued by the relevant authorities of the exporting country and/or the mine owner, to demonstrate the legal status and current situation of the coal mine from which the coal would be supplied. If a Bidder supplies coal from an illegal coal mine, Formosa may reject such shipment of coal without any liability thereof and without any prejudice to its right of being supplied as per agreement between the parties.

Qualifications of the Bidder
Coal producers, marketing companies or traders can participate in this Bid. Bidders shall meet the whole requirement of this ITB including but not limited to coal quality specification, shipping schedule, quality, etc.

Bidders whose track record of supply to Formosa, 5 (five) generation subsidiaries of KEPCO, Tai-power and Japanese Power Utilities including J-Power in total for the past 3 years do not amount to 120,000MT can only offer on CFR

Submission of Bid Documents
The Bid documents shall be attached in the Formosa coal quotation?s system (http://coal.fpg.com.tw/) or submitted by e-mail to the address below not later than the Bid Closing Date
