Coal vessel hits reef in E. Kalimantan

MV Moondance II, a handymax vessel that carries coal from East Kalimantan miner PT Berau Coal has been stuck after hitting a reef off East Kalimantan water since January 3, 2011, local daily Tribun Kaltim reported Monday.

The vessel, which is bound for India, is likely stuck due to human error, a Berau Coal official was quoted by the media as saying.

The report said that the vessel hit the reef two hours after completing loading at Muara Pantai anchorage.

The Malta- flagged vessel is operated by Greek firm Primebulk Shipmanagement Ltd. (*)
