Australian listed coal mining firm Coalworks Limited said Wednesday that through its wholly owned subsidiary Orpheus Energy Group Pty Ltd has started coal loading activity from its B26 coal joint venture Project in Longbok river, East Kalimantan and ready for trial shipment.

The B26 Coal Project is located approximately 26km from the barge loading site. Coal is currently being loaded onto the barges which will then be transported out to the transshipping area in the middle of Adang Bay, East Kalimantan, where it will be loaded on to ships for transport to overseas clients.

This trial shipment of coal forms part of the supply of coal under an off-take agreement for the first 25,000 tonnes of coal which has already paid with an advance of US$500,000.

At the same time, operations at the B26 coal project continue to progress on schedule, with heavy earthmoving machinery continuing to pre strip the overburden to expose the coal allowing trial mining. Drilling is continuing to advance the existing database and mine plans. (lucky)
