PT Supreme Energy said that the Rantau Dadap geothermal power plant project in Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province, is targeted to reach commercial operation date (COD) status in 2020.
?We want the COD to be scheduled for the first semester of 2020. But it can?t be ascertained, it depends on the processes. We?ll see. We want it to reach COD in 2020,? said Vice President of Supreme Energy, Prijanru Effendi on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 7th IPP Summit 2017 in Jakarta.
Effendi said that progress of the 86 MW Rantau Dadap geothermal power plant project includes completion of feasibility study report, and exploration program of six wells last year.
The project is developed by PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap, a consortium comprising of Sumitomo Corporation, GDF Suez, and Supreme Energy. So far, US$190 million has been spent for the project, and another $500 million is required to complete the project.
The consortium signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN in 2012 for the project, but is seeking to amend the PPA to take into account recent exploration results. ?We?re now renegotiating the tariff to reflect the exploration results, and target to complete the PPA amendment soon, so that the COW can be scheduled for 2020,? Effendi said.
