Cokal announces inferred resource of metallurgical coal in BBM project

ASX-listed coal firm Cokal Ltd announced the company had completed initial geological report for Bumi Barito Mineral (BBM) coal project in Central Kalimantan, confirming a 60 million tonnes inferred resource of metallurgical coal.

It said that the coal quality comprises 60 percent of coking coal and 40 percent of ultra low volatile PCI.

Cokal Executive Director Pat Hanna said the maiden inferred resource estimate covers an area which occupies only 8% of total lease area.

?Our exploration program at the BBM project has progressed well to enable the evaluation of reliable borehole data which has achieved sufficient core recovery (on average in excess of 95%)? he said.

Hanna said that the drilling was continuing to define further coal resources which were generally in areas of low strip ratio and with higher percentages of coking coal.
