Cokal finalizing forestry permit for production stage

ASX-listed global metallurgical coal group Cokal Ltd said that its Bumi Barito Mineral (BBM) coking coal project in Central Kalimantan is ready to enter the production stage early next year.

Endah Ari Cakrawati, Investor Relations at Cokal told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company has just completed the definitive feasibility study, and is currently making final preparations to seek for approval from the Ministry of Forestry to upgrade its forest use permit in the BBM project to production stage status from the current exploration status.

"Hopefully we will obtain the permit soon," she said, adding that the company is ready to commence the construction of the BBM project once the necessary approval is obtained.

"We expect to complete all the construction at the project by year's end, hence in 2015 we are ready to start production," she said.
